Volunteer Opportunity – Be a PAL VIP Buddy This Fall!

We’re reaching out to ask for your support in making this fall’s PAL VIP Soccer Program a success! We’re looking for middle school and high school players to volunteer as VIP Buddies and help make a difference for disabled athletes in our community.

Program Details:

Who: Middle School & High School players

What: Serve as a VIP Buddy (coaching, assisting, and encouraging athletes)

Where: Niceville Recreation Complex

When: Saturdays, September 6 – October 25, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Why Volunteer?

Earn Bright Futures & college application volunteer hours.
Gain valuable leadership and coaching experience.
Support local disabled athletes and give back to the community.
Grow as a person while having a lot of fun!

Flexible Commitment:

This is an 8-week league, but buddies can help as their schedule allows.

If you have EC Rush games/events, you can still participate—just help for 1-2 hours before leaving.

Buddies can easily accumulate 30-40 volunteer hours in a season!

Volunteer for EC Rush's First TOPSoccer Event!

We’re proud to launch Emerald Coast Rush’s first-ever TOPSoccer event on June 7th — and we need your help to make it a success!

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a national USYS and FYSA initiative that gives children with disabilities the chance to experience the joy of soccer. But to make it happen, we need volunteer Buddies to assist and encourage players through fun games and activities.

We’re asking our high school (and almost high school) players to sign up and be part of something meaningful. This also counts toward Bright Futures, NHS, and Key Club volunteer hours — and we’ll sign forms!

Emerald Coast Rush Announces STARS Program Will Not Be Offered This Spring

Niceville, FL – Emerald Coast Rush regrets to announce that the STARS recreational soccer program will not be offered for the Spring 2025 season due to staffing challenges, field availability, and ongoing program restructuring.

We understand that this news may be disappointing for our dedicated young players and their families. While there is a possibility that STARS could return in Spring 2026, we encourage families to explore alternative opportunities available this season.

For players born between 2013 and 2018 , Emerald Coast Rush offers the Spring Youth Development Program (YDP) as the best alternative. The Spring YDP provides an excellent training opportunity with a professional Emerald Coast Rush Staff Coach and includes weekly training sessions throughout March and April . More information can be found at: www.emeraldcoastrush.com/YDP .

Additionally, families can look forward to Florida Soccer School Spring Break & Summer Camps as other great ways to stay engaged in the game.

ECR Staff Assist at TOPSoccer Festival

The Fourth Annual TOPSoccer Festival, hosted in partnership with the Tampa Bay Rowdies, brought joy, excitement, and community to athletes of all abilities. This year’s event, held at the Rowdies Training Facility, marked a significant milestone with participants, coaches, and volunteers coming together to celebrate the spirit of inclusion through the beautiful game.

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based program designed to provide opportunities for athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities. The annual festival has become a cornerstone event, showcasing how the power of soccer can bring people together and create unforgettable experiences.

A Special Year for TOPSoccer
TOPSoccer State Chairperson, Jenn DiTillio, reflected on the event’s success, sharing, “This year’s TOPSoccer Festival was something really special. Coaches from all over the state came together to make it an unforgettable experience. We added some fun new stations, and I’m thrilled to share that half of the attendees were experiencing TOPSoccer for the very first time! A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped out – your support made all the difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you!”

The festival featured a variety of interactive stations, skill challenges, and small-sided games designed to engage athletes in a supportive and inclusive environment. New stations introduced this year brought added excitement and creativity, allowing participants to explore different aspects of the game while having fun.

Building Community, Changing Lives
One of the festival’s most remarkable highlights was its ability to welcome first-time participants. For many families, this was their first opportunity to experience the camaraderie and joy that TOPSoccer offers. The festival not only gave young athletes a chance to play but also helped parents and caregivers connect with the wider soccer community.

Coaches and volunteers traveled from all over Florida to make the day a success. Their dedication to creating an inclusive environment ensured every participant felt encouraged and celebrated. From warm-up drills to goal celebrations, smiles were in abundance as athletes bonded over their shared love for the game.

Emerald Coast Rush Staff Coach Loco and Coach Devin were in invited down to attend. " Even though we are not TOPSoccer coaches, we are FYSA carded coaches for EC Rush and we coach disabled children for VIP, so the FYSA committee invited us down. It was a great experience, we learned a lot and we also shared some of the great things that the VIP program has done" Said Coach Loco.

Congratulations to Coach Zach Probst for obtaining their USSF National C Coaching License!

"Earning this certification involved over 80 hours of classroom work, a 4-day in-person practical, and multiple instructor observed training sessions. Through this, I have sharpened by abilities to effectively plan and execute high-level training sessions for EC Rush players. Just as importantly, the course had a sincere focus on developing coaches' ability to implement a positive culture on their team and at their club. This is something I’m particularly passionate about and excited to employ new lessons and techniques to continue building the already fantastic culture of girl’s soccer at EC Rush."

FYSA Girls in Soccer Program Soars!

In early October, the Girls in Soccer pilot program was a resounding success, brining together around 100 young female athletes from Flordia Youth Soccer Associations (FYSA) Region D. Organized by FYSA Region D East Commissioner Melissa Alford, the event was designed to empower girls in soccer by focusing on a holistic approach to both their physical and mental well-being. With sessions on body health, mental health, and nutrition, the girls left with valuable insights that will aid them both on and off the field.

Emerald Coast Rush, FYSA Region D Member, was well represented with Players and Coaches in attendance. As well as contributions by FYSA Region D VP and ECR Director, Louis Richard.

The Girls in Soccer program will be expanding to new regions of Florida coming soon!

Dalton Healy Announced as New Director of Coaching for Emerald Coast Rush

Niceville, FL – Emerald Coast Rush is proud to announce Dalton Healy as the new Director of Coaching. Healy brings extensive experience both as a player and a coach, most recently from Chattanooga FC, where he was instrumental in developing youth soccer talent at the academy level.

As a coach at Chattanooga FC Academy since 2019, Healy worked with various age groups and played a key role in shaping their competitive success. Notably, he has coached boys and girls teams at different levels, including the 2007 Boys First team and the 2011 Boys First team. In addition to his coaching roles, he also served as the Junior Academy Boys Director (7v7-9v9) since 2022, overseeing crucial stages of player development. His track record of success includes multiple tournament appearances at high-profile events such as the Disney Showcase, Raleigh Showcase, and the Southern Regional Tournament.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Emerald Coast Rush and am eager to work with the coaches, players, and community to help take the program to new heights,” said Healy. “Soccer is my passion, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the club.”

Dalton Healy’s own playing career is equally impressive. As a youth, he achieved multiple state championships and played on the Region III ODP Team at U-15, including a memorable match against Liverpool’s U-20 team. He continued his playing career at the collegiate level with the University of Memphis men’s team. His unique blend of competitive experience and coaching success positions him to lead Emerald Coast Rush’s development initiatives with a fresh perspective.

ECR Alumni Spotlight: Adrian Peterson

GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College sophomore forward Kristen Phillips on the women's soccer team and freshman midfielder Adrian Pearson on the men's soccer team have been named Holmes Community College Players of the Week following their play last week.

Phillips, a West Lauderale product from Collinsville, scored the tying goal against Pearl River Friday. She finished with one goal. Holmes and Pearl River ended in a 2-2 draw. The Lady Bulldogs will host East Central on Tuesday and Northwest on Friday, both in Ridgeland.

Emerald Coast Rush Coach Courtney Peterson recently had a chance to travel to Germany to coach a group of U15 Girls in the 2024 Cordial Cup!

"I recently had the opportunity along with FYSA ODP staff to take U15 Girls team to compete in the much sought after 2024 Cordial Cup in Tryol, Austria. On the trip we had the opportunity to play teams from Germany, Austria, France and Sweden. We also had an opportunity to tour Bayern Munich's Alliance Arena and play against their youth academy at their training academy facilities. We experienced German football culture along with many other memorable experiences. It was an opportunity of a lifetime. I can't wait to bring all that I learned back to our home club. "

(Niceville, Fla.) May 22, 2023 - Emerald Coach Rush, a leading soccer organization, is thrilled to announce its coaching staff for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Tim Seketa will continue as the Director of Coaching and the staff is set to enhance all aspects of player development. With a renewed focus on excellence, Emerald Coach Rush is dedicated to providing top-notch programming for all players under the Emerald Coast banner.

Anthony Loicano will continue as Director of the Development Academy. Loicano's expertise and passion for the game make him the ideal coach to lead this crucial phase of player growth. Notably, the Development Academy will now cater to players aged U10 and below, ensuring that even the youngest talents receive the best possible training and support.

Additionally, the U11-U14 category has undergone an exciting transformation and is now known as the Competitive Academy. Emerald Coach Rush has chosen Matt Niemiec to oversee this development. Niemiec's experience and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of the players in this age group.

The Performance Academy, which encompasses players aged U15 and above, will be overseen by Craig Wallace. With his unique coaching abilities and international knowledge, Wallace will play a pivotal role in elevating the performance of the older players. The Performance Academy aims to hone the skills of these athletes and prepare them for high-level competition.

The coaching staff at Emerald Coach Rush is excited about the restructuring and the potential it holds for players of all ages. By implementing these changes, the organization is committed to delivering top-quality programming and fostering a supportive environment for each individual player.

As the 2023-2024 season approaches, Emerald Coach Rush remains dedicated to its mission of developing well-rounded, skilled, and successful soccer players. Uganda Trip Donations

This summer, Brad and Rebekah Ellis have an opportunity to visit a missionary and school they support in Uganda. Three years ago, the school formed a soccer team where they travel to nearby villages to play. This has been a great opportunity to show the boys and girls community and that there are opportunities outside of their village.

Brad and Rebekah would like to bring supplies over to help their school as they are not easy to get.

Emerald Coast Rush encourages you to bring any donations you may have to assist in this mission trip.

As we gather today for our final practices under the FC Dallas banner and prepare for the upcoming 4v4 tournament & ASG Capital Cup, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all of the FC Dallas family.

For the past 12 years, FC Dallas Emerald Coast has proudly served as a youth affiliate of FC Dallas of Major League Soccer. Throughout this incredible journey, we have nurtured young talents, fostered a spirit of sportsmanship, and witnessed remarkable growth within our players, staff and club.

This week marks a bittersweet milestone as we train for the last time as an affiliate with FC Dallas. We will be transitioning to a new organization for the upcoming tryouts and playing year. While change can be both exciting and challenging, it is important to recognize and honor the incredible relationship we have shared with FC Dallas over these 12 years. The impact it has had on our club's development and the opportunities it has provided for our players cannot be overstated.
